Most pins use coordinates published by manufacturer dealer locators. Additional usable street addresses are matched with the U.S. Census geocoder. Census matches locate an address along a street, not necessarily a building entrance.
Addresses that cannot be located reliably are in Unpinned. No state or city center is used as a substitute for a business address. Published map-only entries are labeled in their details.
Distributors include aquarium/livestock wholesalers with published company, manufacturer, trade-association, or distributor-catalog evidence in the research register. Other sellers includes direct wholesale suppliers and sellers whose retail or distributor role is not established. Categories overlap: a business can be a distributor, retailer, and e-commerce seller. E-commerce is supported by observed online catalogs/storefronts or explicit manufacturer online-dealer listings; absence of the tag means not yet established in this research. Online sales do not establish walk-in access. In the E-commerce view, matching pins are purple; elsewhere distributor color takes priority. Classification does not establish current authorization or stock. Facility entries identify company-level brand evidence separately. Original wholesale evidence remains in each record’s details. Service-only businesses are excluded.
Duplicate review consolidated 246 redundant source records into 205 locations, preserving their sources, brands, and sales channels. Distinct branches and uncertain address matches remain separate. Download the complete merge audit.
This research is not a complete U.S. market census. Source directories may be outdated, and similar address records may still refer to the same business. Each business includes its published source links.
